Monday 28th February - Worthing Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Worthing Monday 6 a side league this week, which saw the new season kick off in style with some entertaining matches played across all four divisions!

In the Premier Division, Jimmy Floyd Hasslehoff got off to a flying start since they were promoted from Division Three (after joining late last season), showing their quality in a 9-0 thrashing over Vapors which surely sees them as potential title contenders at this early stage!  Champions FC Big Wangs also got off to a fine start, as they thrashed newly promoted Selden Park Rangers by a 7-2 score line.  MK's Dons also had a promising start as they look to get back to the top of the division this term, they were 5-3 winners in a high intensity game against The Dad Bods.  Completing the action but by no means least was an 8 goal thriller in which Hussars and Sevilla Autism could not be separated as the game ended 4-4.

Recently relegated Packet Inn showed no mercy since relegation as they ran out 16-4 winners in their first game of Division One over Biscuitmen, they will be determined to get back to the top division at the first time of asking.  Other action saw Murder on Zidane's Floor, fresh from promotion from Division Two, run out 6-3 winners against Jen Dog FC in an entertaining encounter.  Another newly promoted team, Worthing Rovers, got their season off to a fine start as they beat Wet Ass Pukki by a 2-1 score line in a closely fought encounter, that is Rovers' eighth win in a row since joining the league.  Finally for Division One, recently relegated Pen15 Club had a good start to the campaign as they were 3-2 winners against Studs FC.

New Boys to Division Two, Brass Band, had a tough start this week, running into an LA Dairy Milk side who were in no mood to take prisoners, they thrashed the new boys 13-0 to get their season off to a flying start.  Arseanal gave newly promoted Cream of the South a tough start to the division as they ran out 5-0 winners over the Division Three champions, whilst You Petr Cech Yourself won an entertaining game against Partey Time by a 5-3 score line.

Division Three saw Bowen Balcony get off to a flying start, as they were 8-0 winners over Affordable FC in an unforgiving performance.  Unathletico Madrid were also in clinical form in front of goal, running out 7-0 winners against Bayern Munchies.  After a mid-table finish last season, Not So Athletic will be looking to improve this time out, and they started that ambition in style as they were 2-0 winners over 3 For 100?  Elsewhere, new boys Nolu FC came up against an experienced Disunited FC who put them to the sword by a 4-1 score line to get their season off to a great start!
