Monday 9th January - Worthing Round-Up

Overall it was a good evening's football in the Worthing Monday 6 a side league this week as we returned to action for 2023.  The only disappointment was a handful of non-attendances, all three teams will however be spoken to and confirmed to return on Monday 16th January.

Premier Division leaders Worthing Rovers ran out 2-1 winners in their match against MK's Dons as they remain three points clear of second placed Dad Bods, who thrashed Guildbourne Gobblers by 11 goals to 1!  The top two meet in a matchup on 16th January which could see Rovers confirm the title with games to spare, or give Dad Bods a fighting chance.

Packet Inn went to the top of the Division One table this week after a well earned 6-2 win over JCI FC, leapfrogging LR Vets who couldn't raise a team.  In the other league match there were a whopping 15 goals, as Goring By Siuuu ran out 9-6 winners over LA Dairy Milk in a thriller!

Division Two table toppers Bowen Balcony gave SwazTekka a lesson in finishing this week as they romped to a 5-1 victory, keeping their average goals scored at over 4 per game for the season.  Pukki 22 B stay in second place and four points off the top, although they'll be looking at just securing promotion at this point, a 4-0 win over Lads on Toure keeps them moving in the right direction, and three points clear of third.  Two new teams made their debuts in this division this week, PandH FC ran out 3-1 winners over 3 For 100 in an excellent first result, whilst Golden Arch It FC suffered a 2-1 reverse against Lads on Toure in a game that'll give them something to build on.

Division Three leaders FC Boca Seniors moved two points clear at the summit, their ninth win in ten games came this week as they won a nine goal thriller against second placed Neville Wears Prada by 6 goals to 3 to put a gap between the two.  Third placed Bayern Munchies were held to a 3-3 draw by Havana Club as it looks like the top two is now decided barring a miracle.  Elsewhere Unathletico Madrid put Disunited to the sword as they romped to an 8-3 victory, whilst Craigy's At The Wheel also put in a rampant performance, beating You Petr Cech Yourself by 8 goals to 1.
