Tuesday 20th June - Worthing Round-Up

Leisure Leagues Worthing Tuesday 6-a-side League, held at the magnificent Worthing Leisure Centre with its top-notch 3G surface, witnessed an evening filled with thrilling matches and surprising outcomes. Game week 6 of the current season brought together teams brimming with enthusiasm and determination, resulting in a footballing spectacle that left spectators on the edge of their seats.

In the first match of the night, the undefeated DOG & DUCK FC faced off against the spirited newcomers, BARRYS SHGED YER MA. The Dog & Duck had been on a remarkable winning streak, but this encounter proved to be their Achilles' heel. The plucky newcomers managed to stun the league leaders, inflicting upon them their first defeat of the campaign. With a scoreline of 0-4, Barrys Shged Yer Ma threw a dog amongst the ducks, making a name for themselves as a fantastic addition to the league and causing quite a stir.

Next up, the VAPER ICE FC took on AE FC in a clash that promised fireworks. The match delivered on its promise, as both teams battled fiercely for victory. Goals were raining down from all angles, creating an electric atmosphere. In the end, it was AE FC who emerged triumphant with a narrow 5-4 win, leaving Vaper Ice FC with a bitter taste of defeat. The match was a real rollercoaster, with both sides displaying their attacking prowess and keeping the spectators on the edge of their seats.

DFC, in their final appearance in the league, locked horns with Kick Ball FC. Determined to leave a lasting impression, DFC put on a spirited display. Both teams exhibited their skills and determination, resulting in an enthralling contest. Goals were traded back and forth, and in the end, the final whistle blew with a 4-4 draw. DFC bid farewell to the league on a high note, leaving a mark with their entertaining style of play.

In a clash that pitted two formidable teams against each other, El Spastico faced off against Paris Ain't German. El Spastico showcased their well-drilled performance, proving to be a tough nut to crack for one of the league's top teams. Paris Ain't German, renowned for their strength, found themselves locked in a hard-fought battle. In the end, neither side could claim victory, and the match concluded in a 1-1 draw. It was a testament to the competitive nature of the league, where every point counts.

We welcome new team Level 2 Kittens to the action on Tuesday 27th June!  We wish these good luck in their first game as they face Paris Ain't German!
