Excitement continued to build in the Axminster Wednesday 6-a-side Football League as teams from the Premier League and Division 1 divisions clashed for their third week of the season, providing a spectacle of competitive football for all to enjoy.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League, Uplyme & Sinker continued their strong run with a 3-1 victory against Ansu Fatties, showcasing their dominance in the league. Vikings FC defeated Sigma United in a tight-knit contest, demonstrating their defensive skills by keeping a clean sheet and narrowly winning 1-0. The highest-scoring match of the Premier League saw Perrys Disabled edge out Nice To Michu 4-3, in what was an intense back-and-forth game. The Premier League's top scorer of the week was Will Board from Perrys Disabled, who made a significant contribution to his team's victory by netting 3 goals.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, Queens Park Strangers were unable to hold off the 6 Receivers, who displayed their offensive prowess by winning 6-2. Farmers Weekly also secured a decisive 6-2 victory against The Roy's, demonstrating their solid team performance. Anchors Away stood out with a remarkable 6-1 win over Diabetico Madrid, asserting their supremacy in the division. Callum Arnold of Anchors Away stole the spotlight by scoring an astonishing 5 goals, making him the top scorer in Division 1 this week.
These results have set the stage for an exciting season in both the Premier League and Division 1. With each team vying for the top spot, the stakes continue to rise. As the teams prepare for the next week, they will undoubtedly be focusing on improving their strategies and performances to ensure they bring their A-game to the pitch.
