CHESTERFIELD - The opening week of the Chesterfield Sunday 6-a-side Football League kicked off in full swing, with teams across four divisions showcasing exhilarating performances on the pitch.

In Division 1, Whingerworth barely edged out Athletico Biffin in a high-scoring thriller, finishing 4-3. Adding to the excitement, S40 Rifles managed a triumphant victory over LADZIO, in a match ending with an impressive 8-5 scoreline. The day concluded with Matip Is In securing a 4-2 victory over Mill Guys.

Division 2 saw its share of nail-biting encounters, with “Norfolk & Good” narrowly defeating Inter McCann 2-1. IMX FC displayed stellar teamwork, shutting out 360 No Pope with a clean 3-0 victory. The match between AFC S41thouse and 90+ Shave & Haircut ended in a 2-2 stalemate.

The biggest victory of the first week came from Division 3, courtesy of Xavi Dodgers who trounced Dahmers Men 10-1. The match between Matip Stinks and Dyslexia United ended with a 1-1 draw. Pathetic Athletic wrapped up play in Division 3 by crushing Somersall All Stars 9-2.

Finally, Division 4 saw Walking Football FC dispatch Brexit Birdholme with a clean 5-0 sweep. The Jerry Hat-Tricks secured a 3-1 victory over Brexit Or Exit, while a close match saw Parking The Bus Fc lose to Park Road Fc 3-2.

As the season has just started, teams across all divisions are eager to continue the momentum as they head into Week 2.

The top scorers, in respective divisions, after a high scoring opening week were Whingerworth, IMX FC, Xavi Dodgers and Walking Football FC. They've shown their prowess by scoring the maximum goals in their divisions and will be the ones to watch out as the season progresses.
