ST MARYS OUT FRONT AGAIN IN COWES 6 A SIDE

Last night saw the biggest game of the season in our Isle of Wight 6 a side league at Cowes Enterprise College as our top two sides locked horns in what many will consider an early season title decider. It's not quite that but certainly the defending champions St Marys will feel like they have taken a huge step towards back to back league wins on the back of their performance last night. The game was settled by a single goal to leave Old Guns 2 points behind after this 5th round of matches. The sides meet again later in the season in what will defiantly be a must win for Old Guns if they have eyes on regaining their trophy in this league. Elsewhere we saw a good 1 - 0 win for Baines on Toast, Jarred Fisher on target to lift his team out of the bottom two while rivals Khedira Pin Drop had a night to forget, shipping 7 without reply against a rampant Millennials Plus side who had a Joel Mather hattrick to thank for the points which keeps them in touch with the top two. The final game ended as a draw, a fantastic game between Pique Blinders and Diverse Cowboys with goals from Kian Mooney and George Stinton for Pique being cancelled out by strikes from Oscar Grant and Matthew Stride for The Cowboys. Great game, brilliant from both teams.

Big thanks to Jukesy, Steve and Pete for manning the whistles this week in Cowes, don't forget you can join the waiting list for this league for just £1 and when a space comes up we will cover your 1st match fee. We also have more immediate room in our leagues in Ryde and Sandown on a Thursday or Monday night so check those out too if you are looking to get started with a new team.

Well done to everyone last night, see you all next Tuesday.
