"SITTINGBOURNE FOOTBALL LEAGUE KICKS OFF A NEW SEASON"

A new season of the Sittingbourne Monday Football league began last night as teams from across the town came together to compete in an exhilarating evening of six-a-side football. The league is split into three divisions: Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2.

In the Premier League, TIZER CHIEFS edged out Chalkwell Road FC in a tightly contested match that ended 2-1. Bowl FC, however, experienced a more comfortable game, beating Stroke Titty 4-1. Cunch Of Bunts FC marked their season opener with a clean sheet against Stover FC, winning 3-0. Both Murston Massive and Expected Toulouse, as well as Isle Of Bourne and Gold Dust, played out goalless draws. The star of the Premier League was unquestionably Lennon of Bowl FC, who found the back of the net twice.

Over in Division 1, Vineyardigains FC set the bar high with a 3-0 victory over Brexit Boys Fc, and Snorting Lisbon won 2-0 against Chubby Alonsos. A high-scoring match saw Six Offenders triumphing over In FC with 4 goals, while Rapid Viagra fell 1-5 to Paralympiakos. James Newman of Paralympiakos emerged as the top scorer, adding two goals to his tally.

Division 2 saw an intriguing mix of results. Zesty Zebras and CS FC had a close encounter, with the former pulling off a 1-0 victory. Youthoftoday and OP FC shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw, while Woodbourne narrowly defeated MKE Dons 2-1. The Saints displayed an excellent performance with a 5-0 scoreline against Fleur De Lis, and Peel Sports edged past Swamp Dwags 2-1. The division's top scorer was George S from Woodbourne, who scored two beautiful goals.

As the dust settled on the first week, it's safe to say we are in for an exciting season. All teams showed great determination and we can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds.
