Abingdon Monday 5 a side end of season round up!

ABINGDON MONDAY 5 A SIDE END OF SEASON ROUND UP

Thank you to all our teams on another great season of 5 a side on a Monday night down at Tilsley Park. A big thank you to Dean and all our referee's this season including Ian, Soti, Nick, Tom, Ben and Martin. Congratulations to all our champions and our individual award winners. We now have a little break due to the bank holiday Mondays coming up so the new season will start on the 15th May. We have limited spaces available for new teams so get registered today.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Massive Irons rounded off another excellent season with a 5-3 win over Royal Madrid to reclaim the Premier League title. Backstreet Moyes finished with a 5-0 win and will be challenging the champions next season. Pathetico Madrid won an entertaining game 5-4 against AB's All Whites in the other match. Royal Madrid and Goals Aloud drop down a division for next season.

DIVISION ONE

Only Put Matip In held onto top spot on the final day of the season to claim the Div 1 title and promotion as they picked up a 5-0 win with The Village away. The other two games couldn't have been any tighter as The Sticky Bandits won 5-4 against Sporting John to jump up to second spot while Athletico Flint also won 5-4 against Cunning Stunts although both sides go down to Div 2.

DIVISION TWO

FC Copenbadly had already wrapped up the Div 2 title but they finished with another victory under their belts as they saw off second place Substandard Liege 13-4, both sides heading up to Div 1 next season. The mid table clash between FC Unts and Wantage Wanderers ended in a 5-5 draw while Intayanan beat Expected Toulouse 10-5, both sides dropping to Div 3.

DIVISION THREE

Soggy Busqusts romped to a 13-2 win over Sluts N Bolts to leapfrog them and win the Div 3 title on the final day of the season, Sluts N Bolts still remain in the promotion places so the teams will meet again next season. Relegation Rovers picked up a big 16-1 win over Hardly Athletic while Wanyama's beat Survey Monkey's 4-2 although it wasn't enough to avoid them joining Hardly in Div 4 next season.

DIVISION FOUR

We had a couple of teams away this week in Div 4 so Fredericks picked up a 5-0 win as did Van Dijk. BeanzBurgzBosh won a great game against Kick It In The Net-ics 6-4 to jump into the promotion places while Fredericks took the top prize.

Thanks again to everyone involved, the new season will be starting on the 15th May and the new fixtures will be out around a week beforehand.
