Abingdon Monday 5 a side new season underway!

ABINGDON MONDAY 5 A SIDE SEASON KICKS OFF!

Our eagerly anticipated Abingdon Monday Football League has officially begun, with an incredible display of skill, teamwork, and determination witnessed in the opening fixtures. With five divisions competing for glory, the stage is set for an enthralling season ahead. We still have a couple of spot left to fill so if you'd like to get your team involved get registered now. Here's a look at the scores from the opening night:

PREMIER LEAGUE

In the Premier League, Staddy Pigeons soared to an impressive 7-3 victory over Dog N Duck, while Fredericks FC defeated Egg Fried Reus with a commanding 9-4 triumph. These opening matches showcased the high-octane action and goal-scoring prowess that we can expect throughout the season in the top flight.

DIVISION ONE

Division 1 witnessed Backstreet Moyes storm past Substandard Liege with a resounding 9-4 win, highlighting their attacking prowess and determination to secure a top spot early on.

DIVISION TWO

Division 2 matches saw Makeshift FC edge out Grandad FC with a narrow 5-4 victory, providing an intense and closely contested fixture. Goals Aloud also showcased their scoring capabilities, defeating Intayanan 6-3 in an exciting encounter.

DIVISION THREE

In Division 3, new team Anker United exhibited their attacking flair and clinical finishing in a 9-5 win over another new team Aspergio Aguero. Meanwhile, Cunning Stunts narrowly edged out Expected Toulouse FC with a 2-1 victory, displaying their tactical acumen and resilience.

DIVISION FOUR

Division 4 matches witnessed Survey Monkeys producing a solid display against Earth Wind And Maguire to secure a convincing 3-0 win, while Hardly Athletic showcased their mettle with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Schofields U15s. New boys Fiorentina Turner impressed with a 6-3 triumph over Kick It In The Net-ics, displaying their attacking sharpness and ability to find the back of the net.

As the season has just begun, it is too early to predict the ultimate winners of each division. However, the majority of the games were competitive which suggests a tight season across the divisions.

We look forward to an exhilarating season at our Abingdon Monday Football League, filled with some intense matches, outstanding goals, and gripping moments of brilliance. With the passion and dedication exhibited by the participating teams, this promises to be a great season.
