ABINGDON MONDAY 5 A SIDE RESULTS - MATCH DAY 7
In a thrilling week 7 of the Abingdon Monday 5-a-side Football League, participants left us on the edge of our seats with some exhilarating games across all divisions on a chilly and snowy evening at Tilsley Park. It was great to be back after the Christmas break and all teams were in attendance for the first match day of 2024. Here's round up of the results:
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, Makeshift FC dominated Anker United, pushing forward with an impressive scoreline of 8-1. Egg Fried Reus narrowly overcame Osama with a 9-8 victory, while Cameroon Diaz outplayed Backstreet Moyes, securing an 8-2 win to cement their place at the top of the table with 7 wins from 7.
DIVISION TWO
Division 2 saw a similar calibre of football, with Only Put Matip In securing a comfortable victory over Cunning Stunts with a scoreline of 6-2. Intayanan beat Ivory Toast 5-2, and Puyol Pants Down outscored Hardly Athletic 6-2. Elsewhere, Goals Aloud narrowly defeated Substandard Liege 3-2, while FC Unts triumphed over Survey Monkeys 8-3. Puyol Pants Down are in a similar position to Diaz in Div 1 as they recorded their 7th win on the bounce to sit top.
DIVISION THREE
Finally, Division 3 exhibited some high scoring matches, with Bumfica beating His Mind FC 7-4 while Adam Johnsons U9s triumphing over Kick It In The Net-ics with a comfortable 5-0 victory. Eze Top 3 won against Schofields U15s 6-3 while The Broad Beans had a landslide victory against Fiorentina Turner 15-1. Wenger Fun Stops Stop also saw success, beating Expected Toulouse FC 7-2. The Broad Beans stole the show as the top scorers with an extraordinary 15 goals as they remain top of the table after match day 7.
This week's thrilling matches have set the stage for a tantalizing week 8 of the Abingdon Monday 5-a-side Football League. The teams are now more determined than ever to outperform their competition and claim the coveted championship title in their respective divisions.
