ABINGDON MONDAY 5 A SIDE RESULTS - MATCH DAY 8
The thrilling Abingdon Monday 5 a Side Football League continued into week 8 with several startling results across Divisions 1, 2, and 3.
DIVISION ONE
In Division 1, Backstreet Moyes met Aspergio Aguero for an intense face-off that ended 4-3 favouring Aspergio Aguero. The match was a grueling battle of tactics and precision that kept us on the edge of our seats. However, it was Egg Fried Reus that stole the spotlight with an astonishing 10-1 victory against Makeshift FC, firmly asserting their dominance in the division as they keep pace with leaders Diaz who picked up a 5-0 win this week due the space in Div 1.
DIVISION TWO
Division 2 witnessed some equally engaging encounters. The nail-biting match between Cunning Stunts and Survey Monkeys concluded with the latter narrowly edging out a 3-2 win. However, FC Unts outshone their competitors with an overwhelming 10-0 triumph over Substandard Liege. Goals Aloud, unfortunately, failed to live up to their name, falling 8-1 to leaders Puyol Pants Down. The clash between Hardly Athletic and Ivory Toast was a close call, ending 5-4 in favour of Hardly Athletic. The match between Intayanan and Only Put Matip In ended in a 0-0 stalemate, an unusual score at 5 a side.
DIVISION THREE
The action in Division 3 was just as exhilarating. Bumfica narrowly defeated Wenger Fun Stops Stop 4-3 while table toppers The Broad Beans dominated Expected Toulouse FC with a 7-1 victory. Fiorentina Turner fell 6-3 to Schofields U15s while Eze Top 3 met Adam Johnsons U9s for a 1-1 draw. The week closed with Kick It In The Net-ics succumbing to His Mind FC with a 5-1 scoreline, a first win of the season for His Mind.
As we move into week 9, it's clear that the Abingdon Monday League is as unpredictable as ever and we can look forward to more action-packed matches in the coming weeks.
