Abingdon Monday 5 side round up!

It was the penultimate round of matches at Abingdon Monday 5 a side league last night. All teams were in attendance with the exception of UpTheDucks and Marshall Massive. UpTheDucks will return next week while we welcome new team 2 Girls 1 Schlupp who replace Marshall Massive from next week.

Here's a look down through all the results from the five divisions.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Congratulations to Costa Rica who sealed their first Premier League title with a thrilling 9-7 win over Sporting John, despite seven goals from Brad Cook Sporting couldn't prevent the loss in an entertaining game. Massive Irons returned this week and won 7-0 at home against Royal Madrid while The Village won 6-3 away at AB's All Whites, although the win won't save them from the drop.

DIVISION ONE

Div 1 is the only division in which the title is undecided going into the last round of matches next week. Pathetico Madrid remain a point clear at the top after a 6-0 win away at Expected Toulouse, Harry Ackland scoring a hat-trick. Goals Aloud won 5-0 in the other game with Marshall Massive away to move up to third while Cunning Stunts are now up into the promotion places after a close 4-3 win over Schindlers Assist. Going into next week all of the top four teams can still win promotion although realistically only Pathetico Madrid and Cunning Stunts can take top spot due to Madrid's superior goal difference. It's going to be an exciting end to the Div 1 season nonetheless.

DIVISON TWO

Only Put Matip In are assured top spot in the league after a 5-3 away to Intayanan. The Sticky Bandits have also secured their promotion to Div 1 despite taking their foot off the gas somewhat, going down 7-1 to third place FC Unts, unfortunately for Unts they are three points behind Bandits with just the one game to play. Hardly Athletic picked up a 5-0 points match win in the other game due to UpTheDucks being away at late notice.

DIVISION THREE

FC Copenbadly sealed their second title in two seasons as they won again to take the Div 3 trophy, defeating Survey Monkey's 7-3. Substandard Liege were in red hot form as they won 11-1 at Kick It In The Net-ics, hat-tricks for Tomos Knight, Luke Franklin and Simon Conaty to move them up into second at the expense of Survey Monkey's. McFatty's enjoyed a 4-1 victory against Soggy Busquet in the other game with Adam Moody grabbing a hat-trick.

DIVISION FOUR

Sluts N Bolts remain the only team in the league with a 100% record and that wasn't about to change last night as they ran out 10-3 winners against Bacon Mbappe. Relegation Rovers moved into the top two with a 10-4 win against BeanzBurgzBosh while Destined Toulouse won 6-3 against Rhythm Of Van Dijk.

Thank you to all our match officials, captains and players. We have one more round of matches to go this season before the new season starts on the 13th February. New teams can register now for FREE at the link below, thanks Rich 07969 731086.
